RECENTLY AT THE CHAIR ...
CERTIFICATION 2023
The Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair is proud to have held its traditional certification ceremony on December 13th on the ESSEC campus of CNIT-La Défense in the company of students who validated the course and numerous distinguished guests who sent them messages all individuals for their entry into working life or for the final straight of their studies.
We warmly thank our partners without whom this program would not train our young talents for the world of tomorrow. Congratulations to all the students of the class of 2023!
The ESSEC Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair is proud to be invited to the next edition of #SIBCA, the low-carbon real estate fair.
It was held from September 20 to 22, 2023 at the Palais Éphémère in Paris. The SIBCA is positioned as an essential event for real estate professionals invested in the fight against global warming and innovative in terms of reducing environmental impact.
On the program: exhibitions, round tables, interviews, meetings with decision-makers for whom carbon neutrality is more than a slogan, but obvious.
The chair had a very special place there alongside partners, with a round table to ask special guests whether profitability was still possible seeing the costs of the decarbonization of real estate.
The GRI CLUB held its 25th European edition last September 12 & 13 at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand. As part of its academic partnership, the Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair was invited to cover the event with a team of students from all over ESSEC's real estate division who had the pleasure of meeting decision-makers: investors, landlords, developers, bankers, and so many more.
This event is a must on the international real estate scene and ESSEC Business School will be there.

The Specializations Fair was held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Galion building of the ESSEC Cergy Campus. ESSEC chairs and tracks were represented there and invited students to come and meet the chair team.
This fair addressed students admitted on title to the Grande Ecole, for MS and BBA students.

MASTER CLASS #2
François TRAUSCH, CEO Global PIMCO Prime Real Estate vous parle d'ESG
On Monday June 14th 2023, a master class organized by the Real Estate & Sustainanme Development Chair was held at the Learning Lab of ESSEC Cergy Campus and welcomed Mr. Francois Trausch, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of PIMCO Prime Real Estate, a partner of the chair.
The guest lecturer addressed real estate students and more broadly ESSEC students on #ESG and presented the partner company’s target of carbon neutrality.
Investing differently and more respectfully of the environment is possible.
The chair intends to sensitize its young generation to the emergency of the subject and confronts its students with the ESG topic in every of its courses proposed to Grande Ecole, IMHI and GBBA students. Not just a slogan, a reality, an emergency!
The master class ended with a drink around relevant questions from a very interested audience. The future investors and developers are willing to further integrate environmental criteria in everything they wish to undertake.
Franck Petel and his team warmly thank Mr. Trausch for the dedicated time and the quality of the exchanges spent with our ESSEC students.
RETROSPECTIVE ON OUR CHAIR SEMINARS IN 2023
Chair seminar #1 - 01/16
On Monday January 16, 2023, the first seminar of the Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair was held. Organized with our partner IMMO Mousquetaires, the Chair took its students to Montmartre to discover an atypical project on the rehabilitated Intermarché site at 44 rue l'Epic. Thanks to Frédéric Vidy (Human Resources Director IMMO Mousquetaires), Nastassja Macé (HR Development Manager IMMO Mousquetaires), Régis Piollat (IMMO Mousquetaires Région Parisienne at Intermarché), Jean-Baptiste Lesage (Development Manager at IMMO Mousquetaires) and Charles de Mascarel ( INTERMARCHÉ MEMBER & CEO SAS TOMBAPIC) for their quality presentations and explanations.

Lundi 27 février 2023, les étudiants de la Chaire immobilier ont eu le plaisir de découvrir le nouveau siège social en France de notre partenaire Allianz Real Estate. Les locaux situés Boulevard Haussmann illustrent comment dans un tel quartier classé de Paris on peut parfaitement allier bureaux intelligents et nouveaux modes de travail pour maximiser le bien-être et l'efficacité au travail dans une période post-COVID où le travail à distance a considérablement augmenté. Le design de l'espace a été pensé de manière à améliorer la communication entre les services, les équipes et les humains de manière générale grâce à de nombreux espaces communautaires par exemple.
Dix mois séparent le démarrage du projet et sa livraison pour voir l'équivalent de trois étages de la Tour Allianz One La Défense fouler le sol de cette nouvelle adresse d'un seul étage.

ULI-HINES EUROPE COMPETITION
TWO STUDENTS FROM THE REAL ESTATE CHAIR MADE WINNERS OF THIS VERY POPULAR COMPETITION
Our congratulations to the quartet of ESSEC students who won the ULI-Hines Europe European real estate competition, with whom the Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair is highlighted by the participation of 2 students from their class of 2021!
On the occasion of its third edition of the annual ULI (Urban Land Institute) Hines competition, it is with great emotion that the Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair discovered the winners of this renowned competition and what a joy to have been able to congratulate two students from the chair (class of 2021) taking part: Théo Roché and Antoine Sgard. Our congratulations extend eminently to Marie Lucille and Marion Decloux-Carré, both from the ESSEC Urban Economy Chair. A wonderful crossover between different skills and special talents has resulted in a magnificent redevelopment project of a site including a listed monument of modern architecture, while minimizing the environmental impact and generating a positive community impact (by strengthening social cohesion between different neighborhoods surrounding said site).

On May 30th, the Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair held a Master Class on the ESSEC Business School campus with, as special guest, François Trausch as CEO of Allianz Real Estate.
Welcomed by Franck Pétel, François Trausch did us the honor of opening a series of Master Classes that we hope will be long and prestigious at the Real Estate Chair.
The great novelty: the Master Classes of the Real Estate Chair are open to all students wishing to learn more about real estate and ready to confront current issues such as carbon emissions, the occupation of workspaces, the developments of the city of tomorrow, the evolution and the impact of these investments in the companies that you will manage tomorrow.

The Real Estate and Sustainable Development Chair had the pleasure of bringing together the students of its 2021 and 2022 classes in Amsterdam on May 5 and 6 this year for the traditional annual study trip. This trip could not take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. It is in collaboration with the Amsterdam School of Real Estate (ASRE) - which we warmly thank - that we were able to offer nearly 40 ESSEC students from the Real Estate & Sustainable Development Chair two unforgettable days in the city of Amsterdam, very important capital of the real estate sector.
